FAT STOCK DISPOSAL
METHODS CALL FOR REMEDY The operations of the Fat StockDisposal Committee again came up for discussion at last meeting of the Auckland Farmers' Union ElxecutiA'e. Members hold the vicav that in all sucli matters Avhere farmers' interests are all'ected they should haA*e direct representation. Little satisfaction has been received from the Minister of Agriculture to whom an appeal Avas made. The Minister, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, AAa'ote: "This matter lias been discussed fully, witli the Central Committee and it has been decided that, in vieAV of the fact that these committees arc hoav functioning smoothly, it is not necessary to appoint a farmers' representative." A specific request that Mr J. Soler, Gwhango, be placed on the Stock Disposal Committee operating over the Southern King Country brought a similar reply. Members expressed strong resentment at this flat refusal and it was decided to pursue the matter further, exploring eA T ery possible avenue to remedy the position.
