After several weeks passing without the best of results being obtained once more last week Whakatane contributed its quota of National Savings and the post office was able to send aloft the pennant. Heads Swimming Pool The many residents who spent the afternoon at the Heads yesterday were pleased to see that the Borough Council has commenced the work of scooping out the swimming pool. A large heap of sand was evidence that a start had been made and that swimming at any stage of the tide would soon be available.
