COUNTY OF WHAKATANE Public notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Whakatane County Council will be held in the County Council Chambers, Whakatane, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday 24th March, 1942, for the purpose of confirming a resolution passed by way of Special Order, at a special meeting of the Whakatane County Council, held on 24th day of February 1942— to wit: — EDGECUMBE WATER. SUPPLY "That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 122 of the Counties Act, 1920 and Section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act 1929 and with the consent of the Ratepayers of that area in the Whakatane County known as the Edgecumbe Township area as testified by a Petition dated the Ist day of Octob-r 1941 and signed by a majority of the Ratepayers in the said area, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order to make and levy an annually recurring separate rate of one shilling and sixpence (l/6d) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said Edgecumbe Township area (the same being' more particularly described in New Zealand Gazette No-. 8 of the 22nd January 1942 at page 341 and delineated on in* plan annexed to the above-mentioned Petition) for the purpose of repaying to the Council all moneys advanced by the Council to finance the cost of establishing and installing in the said area a water-supply scheme in accordance with the prayer of the said Petition AND THAT such separate rate be payable yearly on the Ist day of April in each and every year until the said moneys advanced are fully paid off." The said Petition and a copy of the plan of the said area are deposited in the office of the said Council and may be inspected without fee during ordinary office hours.
