WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

OTAKIRI MEETING The monthly meeting of the Ota-* kiri Women's Institute was held in the Otakiri Hall on February 4. Mrs Whiteside was in the chair, and the attendance- was rather smaller than usual. After the business had been transacted,-Mr W. J. Murray waited on the meeting to ask for the help of the members in furthering the work of the E.P.S. Afternoon tea was then seryed by Mesdames Beattie and M. Woott&gAry after which Mrs Whiteside, on be- - half of the members, made a small presentation to Mrs Spiers, who is resigning from the Institute. | During the afternoon opportunity was taken by the members to sew together the patchwork squares for a quilt for th« Lady Galway Guild. The competition for the best flower was won by Mrs Tickner, with Miss I. Murray 2, and Mrs Tickner 3.
