HEALTH STAMPS
INCREASE IN SALES
"Three months of the 1941 health stamp campaign have passed," stated the Postmaster-General (Mr Webb), "and the sales of health Stamps show an appreciable increase lover those! during the same period last year and are almost equal to the sales for the first three months of file! 1939 campaign, when conditions generally were more normal than tlieyi are at present. The December sales for the Dominion amounted to £1007, a small decrease when compared with the sales for December, 1940, but the total sales so far this summer show an increase of 2(3. J per cent over those of the first three months of the 1940 campaign.
"The decrease, for December is accounted for by a ' considerable drop in sales in three districts which apparently intensified their efforts earlier in the campaign," said the Minister. "Otherwise most districts show an increase. Timaru disposed of -no less: than £100 worth of stamps in December, a particularly fine effort for a district of that size. For the whole of the Dominion,, Auckland retains the lead for the largest district sales for the month with £220 and a percentage increase over December, 1940, or 57. Other districts showing good sales are Wellington (£187), Christchurch (£103) and Gisborne (£8)."
