So enthusiastic was the welcome accorded Katie Towers, the New Zealand actress, when she appeared in the premiere of "The Man Who came to Dinner" in Sydney last month, that the play was held up for a few minutes. Katie Towers was> born at Thames, and has spent practically all her life on the stage. She has recently been 111 and has not appeared for two years. She visited Dunedin as a member of the cast, of "The Women." Lady Gowrie and Lady Wakehurst attended the Sydney premiere, the proceeds of which were given to the Red Cross Prisoners of War Day Appeal.
