A DRY MONTH
JANUARY PASTURES SUFFER SMALLEST FALL SINCE 1928 The local observer, Mr H. Mnscutt, reports that the rainfall for January was the lightest recorded since 1928. This month with resultant serious consequences to fanning only .82 inches of rain fell. In 1925 came the heaviest- fall- the measure being 10.20, while last January registered 10.18. Rain fell on 12 days of last month. Edgecumbe Figures The Edgecumbe observer, Mr Andrew McLean, reports that the fall for January was .14 inches the heaviest fall being on the eighth when .29 inches fell. In January of last year the fall was heavy being 11.29 inches.
