"MONTHLY SITTING MISCELLANEOUS GASES Yesterdaj-'s sitting of the Magis- ' trate's Court, at which Mr E. L. • Walton, S.M., presided, was an exceptionally short one occupying less r than one hour. The following were ' amongst the few cases dealt with:—. For a breach of a prohibition ord- > er Timoni Keepa was fined £2 with costs £1 7s. Sergeant M. Farrell stated that this was Keepa's second of-' ' fence in 12 months. A charge against Douglas B. inan of driving a car which had no ' warrant oJ' fitness was withdrawn by ' the Police in view of the fact that the defendant was in an overseas camp. Allowing a horse tc< wander on the highway was responsible for Peter Ratahi being fined 10s with 17s costs, A similar offence, involving two horses ccxsft Rutenc Utauta a fine of 10s with costs: £1 2s. A fine of £1 with costs £1 3s was imposed on Stanley Keepa for failing to obtain a, warrant of fitness for his car, while a territorial, G. R. D. Quintal was fined 10s on each charge of driving without a licence and having no warrant, with costs totalling 17s. Driving without a licence meant a fine of 10s, cost's) £1 3s to David Wilson.
