RESPIRATORY TROUBLE Mr Frank Ormond's Burra Sahib has been successfully operated on for respiratory trouble. It is expected that next season he will add to his winning list. RACING ABANDONED The Reef ton and Otautau Jockey ] Clubs and the Wairoa Racing Club have abandoned their meetings which

were to have been held in February. TRAVELLING RISKS The successful sprinter Chcval de Bataille while being transported in a motor vehicle last week became involved in a collision, and received injuries that will prevent him from being raced far some months. AVray and is trained at Trentham by W. J. Evans, for whom he did his first racing at Miarton. He ran third on the first day and Avon on the second and "showed all his old pace and promise.
