IRISH-AMERICA

ACCENT IN BOSTON

There is a marvellous similarity between Boston (U.S.A.) and Dublin. There are 1,000,000 Irish in Boston, and that city was largely settled by Irish. Dublin was settled by the Danes, but they were replaced by the Irish. Of every 25 girls in Dublin, 24 are blue-eyed blondes. That is because they are Irish not because they are descendants of the Danes. The Irish from the West are dark. The Irish are now trying to speak Irish. It is more to tease the English. If the English would start to learn Gaelic, the language would soon die out because there would be no one to tease. In the United States English is spoken with an Irish accent.
