PERSONAL
On Sunday, while working on his farm at Otakiri, Mir R. Dunning had the misfortune to fall and fracture his right wrist. He will be incapacitated for some weeks. Cabled advice has been received by Mr S. H. Tippett to the effect that his son, Pte G. C. Tippett who was a prisoner of war at Stalag XVIH.A. to the effect that he has now left that camp and pending repatriation is now at Heilag, Rouen France. Owing to indisposition His Worship the 1 Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, was unable to be present at Monday's meeting of the Borough Council, and the Deputy-Mayor, Mr S. S. Shapley, occupied the chair. Also present at the meeting w r ere Councillors A. J. Canning, G. G. Caisley, J. G. Mulholland, J. Creeke, T. Ji. Gummings, C. S. Armstrong, C'. W. Good and Messrs D. V. Saunders (clerk), W. S. Henderson (fore-man-engineer) and F. W. Lysaght (electrical engineer). Mr W. Sullivan, Mi.P., was not present having been granted leave of absence.
