HEADS BEACH POPULAR
PETROL SHORTAGE EFFECTS OHOPE
CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND
It is pleasing to note the popularity of the Heads Beach, and the playing apparatus on the Centennial Park, now that the petrol rationing has so drastically cut down the means of transport to Ohope. In spite of the broken weather the Heads has been patronised by hundrers cf children during the school holidays. Picnic parties, and excursions have brought crowds to the spot from time to time, and it would be safe to say that never have the playing apparatus had so much exercise before.
Throngs of happy youngsters may be seen at the Heads almost any clay of the week, while at Oh ope the position is just the reverse. There are still a large number of baches and shacks vacant, a thing unprecedented at this time in other years.
