BLACKOUT ON HILLCREST
Sir, —As one of the recently approached-by the wardens' to double the thickness of my 'blackout' arrangements, I want to say that I have been amazed at the amount of light showing from houses on Hillcrest. I had my attention drawn to the numerous pcants of light showing from those elevated houses last evening and claim, in all fairness that I am at liberty to write to the press and make this lop-sided position known. Here we are on the flat level, being harrassed and argued into still thicker drapings to our windciws, the light from which cannot be seen more than fifty paces away, while up on the most exposed position in the town, with a full view from the sea, the lights are allowed to shine without restriction (or, very little). I, hope whoever the warden in charge of the Hillcrest is, will give this matter a little closer scrutiny in future. Yours etc., CITIZEN. 'Continued in previous <• iumn)
