WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MATATA GATHERING The Matata Women's Institute held its monthly meeting oil December 1G at Mrs H. Withy's residence. Mrs Magee presided over a good attendance which was very' pleasing considering the inelemcncy of the weather and the lack of benzine. A paper was read by the secretary on the gathering of ergot and was listened to with great interest. Mrs H? Withy reported on inquiries re the purchase of spinning wheel attachment most members be-' ing keen to learn. The roll call "The best penny worth I know" brought forth some humorous and witty retorts. A delightful afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mrs H. Withy and Mrs R. Withy and Mrs Rupert Withy.
