BOROUGH OVERSPENT
£2989 ABOVE ESTIMATES
£4219 LEFT FOR FIVE MONTHS
With expenditure for tlie first seven months of the financial year at the rate of £1868 a month, the Rotorua Borough Council has exceeded the estimates by £2989 14s 2d and if the finances arc to be all square at the end of the year, the expenditure for the remaining live months inust be at the rate of £814 a month. With the year's estimates set at £17,301, the council for the seven months ended has expended £13,081 9s 2d. A sum of £4219 0s lOd remains for expenditure during the remaining five months otf the financial year. This was reported at the meeting of the council last week. The expenditure account shows that £1319 Is 4d has been paid for administration, £2910 10s 2d for miscellaneous purposes, £7388 lis Id for works, and £1427 16s 4d for general purposes. The amounts available for the remaining live/ months are as follows: Administration £492 18s 8d; miscellaneous £948 9s lOd; works £Cos 8s 8d; and general purposes £122 3s Bd. —Post.
