HOME GUARD NEEDS APPEAL TO PUBLIC The Home Guard is in need of bottles and tins as follows: — Robinsons barley water bottles and like cordial bottles —these are required for use as water bottles and the screw tops if available should be screwed to the bottles. Squat shaped whisky bottles are also suitable for use as water bottles and will be acceptable. Whisky bottles and the' like being such as will break rapidly on impact. Beer bottles are of no> use for the required purpose as they arc difficult to break. Tins with covers or lids, same to be not more than 294 inches in diameter and about 4y 2 inches in length Contributions of bottles or tins as above may be left in small enclosure immediately at rear of the Fire Brigade building, Whakatane. Contributors from area outside the Borough of Whakatane are • asked to contact Home Guard officers in their own localities.
