CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LOCAL M.P.
County Finance At yesterday's meeting of the County Council accounts amounting to £3552 10s 3d were passed for payment.
THIRD time lucky is an appropriate adage which may be applied to our worthy ex-Mayor and fellow citizen, Mr W. Sullivan, who last Saturday captured the Bay of Plenty seat after a lone contest. Whakatane has once again been fortunate in retaining its parliamentary representative within its bounds. Our congratulations to Mr Sullivan, who may also bask in the -thought that his selection was an overwhelming one reflecting very definitely the confidence of the great majority of the electors he now represents.
Engineer's. Travelling A total of 1010 miles were travelled by the acting-county engineer In the course of last month's inspection work.
