The engagement is announced between Albert Henry, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr Baer, Horokino, Mangapehi, late of Whakatane, and Peggy, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Corless, Hillsbro Terrace, Hamilton.

Before departing for Auckland where she will take up her permanent residence, Mrs E. Hultquist who has recently been spending a holiday in Whakatane was the guest at a pleasant afternoon gathering of ladies at the residence of Mrs E'ggers. Mrs Hultquist was the recipient of a presentation which conveyed the goodwill of her friends in Whakatane.
