LODGE INSTALLATION
M.U.1.0.0.F. CEREMONY
A very successful evening was held by the M.U.1.0.0.F. in the Parish Hall last Saturday night when the Auckland District Grand Master, Bro T. Standy, assisted bv the Deputy Grand Master Bro Newton P.G., installed the officers of Group 19. The hall was tastefui™ ly decoratcd for the occasion. The meeting was opened by the Noble Grand, Sister Hodder, who welcomed the district officers who suitably replied. The District Grand Master spoke touching on the progress of the district and of its financial- standing. The Noble Grand then handed the meeting over to the District Grand Master to install the officers who were as follows: — Whakatane Lodge: Noble Grand, Bro W. Russell; Vice Grand, Sister Stubbs; Elective Jister Miles; Financial Secretary, W. Jones, P.G;| P.N.G., Sister Hodder. Taneatua Lodge: Noble Grand, Bro Hammond; Vice Grand, Bro Brown; Elective Secretary, Bro Broadmore. Edgecumbe: Noble Grand, Bro Boothby; Vice Grand, Bro Nolan; Elective Secretary, Bro Burgess. Opotiki: Noble Grand, Bro M. Kelly; Vice Grand, Bro K. Hennessey;: Elective Secretary, Sister Parkinson; Immediate Past Noble Grand, Sister Palmer. Bro Newton P.G. D.D.G.M., enrolled the Noble Grand, Bro Tonkin P.G. G. 0., enrolled the Vice Grand, and Bro Davis P.G. (Morrinsville) enrolled the Elective Secretaries each giving the respective officers a few words of advise. The D.G.M. then enrolled the I.P.N.G. and F.S. The officers were then led to their various seats and the meeting handed over to the M.G. Pro Russell.' The D.G.M. then presented to Bro Schick P.G. and Bro Johns P.G. of Edgecumbe, each with a framed emblem for meritorious service to their lodge. The N.G. declared the meeting closed and a very enjoyable dance followed to the music of Sister Stubbs, Bro Clark and Bro Litchwark. A very tasty supper was served, by members the social committee of the Whakatane lodge, dancing tinued till 11.45. Bro Russell made a capable M.C. and a well rendered I'ocal solo was given b}- Sister Cresswell. A Lucky Spot Log Cabin was won by Mirs Hume and Mr Tonkin.
