| PUBLIC SERVICE EFFICIENCY TESTS The Government has been recommended by the Public Service Commissioner, Mr J. H. Beyes, to suspend public service efficiency tests lor the. duration of the war. Mr Boyes announced this at a reunion of Taranaki public servants. it was net a fair thing and this thought was confirmed by the thought of •'JOO'O officers of the service who are undergoing a far greater test of efficiency overseas. Thus I concluded it would be in the best interests of the individual as well as the service if the tests were abandoned for the duration of the war."
