OHOPE BAZAAR
RED CROSS BENEFIT SUCCESSFUL EVENT The bazaar held at Ohope to aid Red Cross funds recently proved very successful and the Society benefitted to the extent of- £50, the recaipts of £48 being brought to the round figure. The activities of the afternoon were officially opened by Mr E. Runncrstrum, while ' Mrs Bullen (president) thanked all for the assistance they had given. She presented Mrs Clegg, who had worked exceptionally well with a bouquet. Mr and Mrs Gregor were also specially mentioned for the free use of the hall. The stalls which did such good business were controlled as follows:— Work: Mrs Pulley and Mrs Crozier; Calces: Mrs Roper; Produce: Mrs Hogg; Flowers and Sweets: Miss Crozier and Miss West; Bran Tub: Mrs Kennedy and Mrs Hurst; Competitions: Mrs Lipscombe. Competitions were won as fellows: Dinner: J. Roper (8); Elephant toy (Jacky Timbs): S. Lipscombe; Cushion: Mrs Littlejohn (17); Sweets (153) Mirs Stevenson; "Jeeves the Butler" (Smoker's Stand): Mr Runnerstrum (11).
