EQUIPMENT ARRIVES

HOME GUARD TRAINING The first instalment of equipment has airrived for use in the training of the two Whakatane Infantry Battalions, this including 300 sets of web equipment. 90 service rifles, bayonets and (ammunition, a consignment of practice bombs, silhouette discs and targets. A supply of boots is expected next week, and 1 the only item of importance as yet unfulfilled is the uniforms which, however, are reported to be due to arrive soon.
