Farmers' Petrol

Amongst business sent forward to the Auckland Farmers' Union and considered at last Executive . meeting was a letter sent to the Union by the Oil Fuel Controller, which stated: "With a view to bringing flexibility to farmers, many of them have been granted petrol licences on an annual instead of the usual monthly basis. I,t has been reported to me by the local Oil Fuel Controller that some farmers are not regulating their usage of petrol to keep within their allotments with the result that the purpose of the rationing is being defeated." It was decided to circularise the branches on the matter.
