Absence of Workers
"One of the problems discussed at the last conference was the question of the absence from work of many workers following holiday period* and even during the week," states the annual report of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation. "At our request' Ihe Government instituted an appeal to workers to return to work promptly. The Minister of Industries and Commerce gave most valuable assistance in this direction ami from reports received it would appear that the appeal achieved a substantial degree of success.
