WEEK-END TOURNAMENT
ON THE LOCAL GREENS
Large entries, good weather and greens, visitors from Taneatua, Tauranga, Te Puke, Rotorua, Opotiki Citizens and Opotiki Clubs combined to make the week-end tournament at Wliakatane a success. The B Section resulted in a tie between a team from Te Puke skipued by A. E. Manning and a local team skipped by W. G.. Howat,, with 5 wins each. In the play off Manning had an easy win Howat's team not playing up to form. The score was 12-0. The final between T. Hunt'(Taneatua) and Manning produced some wonderful bowling. Hunt piling up n lead 11-3 but Manning's team evening the score with o excellent six and a two. At this stage both teams were playing anything asked for and the head was being altered with practically every bowl. T. Hunt eventually finishing the game with a perfect trail to win by 14-11* [ Details will appear later.
