LYCEUM CLUB
DRAMA AFTERNOON
The final drama afternoon of the Lyceum Club was held in the club rooms on Thursday afternoon last.
Two plays were presented. The firs! was called Mr Sampson, those in the play being :—Mr Sampson, Miiss Howell; The Two Sisters, Mrs J. Conolly and Mrs E. Blair (Edge--cumbe). The next play Avas called "Lantern Light." The cast Avas Nan, Jean Armstrong; Bethia, Mrs E. Armstrong; Ncrah, Mrs Runciman; Osbent, Mra Vercoe; Janet Jane McGonther, Mrs Appleby; Dinah, Miiss Whiteside.
Mrs Runciman delighted the audience by singing two songs. She was accompanied by Mrs E. Armstrong.
During the afternoon Mrs S. C. Spence took the opportunity of saying good-bye to Miss Greenup, who is leaving shortly to live in Auckland. Miss Greenup has been a member of the club since it started and
has been an active member of the Drama Circle. O'n behalf of mem-
bers of the club she. was presented with a crystal rose bowl, a bouquet and a box of flowers. Miss Greenup suitably replied: The hostesses for the afternoon Mrs Booth), Mrs Keir and Mrs Otley served a delicious afternoon tea. The singing of the National Anthem Jyo-ught the afternoon to a
close. _ Those present were: Mrs S. Spence, Mrs E. Armstrong, Mrs L. Littlcjohn, Mrs C, Thomas, Mrs Smith (Auckland), Mrs Clark (Auckland), Mrs E. Blair (Edgecumbe), Mrs Appleby, Mrs Runciman, Mrs Vercoe, Mrs J. Conolly, Mrs A. Bridger, Mrs Hayter, Mrs Luxton, Mrs Booth, Mrs Keir, Mlrs Otley, Mrs R. Boon, Mrs Jos. Boon, Mrs Hawken, Mrs J. Morice, Mrs W. Bridger, Mrs P. Sisam, Mrs Matthews, Mrs J. Warner, Mrs J. Marten, Mrs Carter (Awaken), Mrs Cairns, Mrs W. Steele. Misses Greenup, Howell, Whiteside, Allan, Boon, O'Brien.
