PLUNKET SOCIETY

NEW COMMITTEE MEETS

The first meeting of the Wliakatane Plunket Society since the formation of the new committee, was held in the Society's rooms on Monday the 10th. November at 7.30 p.nn Those present were Mlesdames C. G. Soutlicy (chair), Dixon, N. Cairns, F. Abbott, L. Rayner, L. Fisher, C. Caisley, J. Riddell, Runciman. Timbs, Dockray, Zinsli, R. Morpeth, C. Wallace, J. Partridge, A. Kend all and A. Bridger.

Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Kingsley-Smitli, Luxton, Shapley and-lSood.

Before opening the meeting the president, Mrs Southey, requested everyone to stand for a moment in memory of the late Lieut. A. G. Hultquist.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the Nurse's report for August and September were read and discussed. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming street collection on the 31st instant.

Mrs Soutliey tlien suggested, as » scheme for raising the much needed

funds, that two sub-committees be formed to work separately, the old committee to act in an advisory pacity. The members from Kopeopeo and Apanui are to form one subcommittee and members from Allandale to form the other. This scheme was fully discussed, then adopted unanimously.
