BARN ADO BOX OPENING

PARTY HELD

The annual box opening of the Barnado League of the Whakatane school took place on Friday afternoon last in the school grounds, when the children were given a party by Miiss Whiteside, the secretary and treasurer, to celebrate the opening of the boxes. It was announced that £20 had been collected i,n boxes and on lists and 15 new members had joined. Organised team' games, a scavenger and treasure hunt were held and afternoon tea and cool drinks under the trees.
