His Worship the Mayor at the invitation bf the County Council is to act as liaison officer between the County and Borough Emergency Precautions Scheme Organisations.
Mr T. K. Person, secretary of the Opotiki A. and P. Association, on account of health reasons, tendered his resignation at a meeting of the committee last week. r I he resignation was received with considerable regret by members. Mir Pearson was appointed secretary to the Opotiki A. and P. Association in September, 1923, and has now completed 18 years of continuous service to the association. This is the longest period of service given, by any of the previous secretaries. Prior to Mr Pearson's appointment the position was filled by the late Mr William Young, Opotiki County clerk, who resigned from the position when he left Opotiki to reside in Auckland.
