GOOD FISHING

CATCHES AT THE LAKES

FULL, BAGS AT WEEK-ENT>

Good fishing is still being enjoyed at the Lakes although it is reported that fish are generally fairly small. Nevertheless, the fish fight well and sport is being enjoyed.

At the week-end Mr and Mrs C. F. Thomas and Master Barry Thomas visited Rotoma and commencing fishing at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday took nine fish. The next day tlie three lines took the limit—3D. Most of the bag were from 1 to l%lbs the largest trout being 3%lbs. At one stage all three lines were playing and all landed their fish.

The best sized catch to be reported this year so far is a 6% pounder landed by Mr C. Head of Whakatane
