TE PUKE MAORIS FAVOUR LOWER AGE LIMIT FOR ARMY
Sequel to allegations indicting the authorities of neglecting the Maori Battalion overseas was heard at Te Puke on Sunday when representatives of the Arawa tribe considered questions affecting the native race. E!very aspect of the. matter was reviewed and points raised were covered in a resume, given by Mr H. Tai Mitchell, C.M.G.
The intense enthusiasm of the Maoris was revealed when the subject of the next overseas reinforcement was broached. Opinion generally favoured the lowering of the age limit and the lifting of the ban.
