LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MONTHLY MEETING HELD The monthly meeting of the League was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday afternoon. After the usual opening by reading the Rules and Objects, the S. G. Caulton gave a short address on "Prayer." He pointed out the futility of praying for the impossible, and dreAV liis hearers attention to the lesson of the Cross. He then offered special prayers foi peace in the hearts of all, concluding Avith the Lord's Prayer, in. which all joined. The other feature of the afternoon was an address by Mrs A. HaAvkens, on "London, as she kneAV it." The speaker started from St. Paul's Cross and led her hearers, north, east, south and Avest from this point, through London city. She ably described the many historical buildings, streets and parks, interspersed with her own inimitable humour. At the conclusion the audience shoAvcd their appreciation by a round of applause. Afternoon tea was serA'ed by lavo members of the committee, after Avliich the meeting closed Avitli the singing of the National Anthem.
