HOLIDAY WEEK-END
A FINE LABOUR DAY
Apart from the Golf and Bowlins Tournaments, cricket contests and; other sporting pastimes, the Labour Day week-end passed quietliy in Whakatane. There was a fair influx of visitors from the country to enjoy the benefits of the beaches and! as the weather remained' reasonably fine, Ohope had its full quota. There wasi also a grood l crowd! at the Heads on all three days. An Auckland visitor considered that the weather here was milder and more settled than in any other part of the province he had visited during the past week.
