ACUTE SHORTAGE OF STARS
REARRANGEMENT OF TALENT
Ail acute shortage in Britain of film stars, labour and studio space is probably the reason why the film companies or the Government are to revise drastically the entire system of film production. It predicts that revision will include the pooling of stars, directors, studios, cameramen and technicians, and will ban the formation of new companies. Recognition by Mr Ernest Bevin, Minister of Labour, shows that women in films are doing Avork of national importance, but the call-up of women have reduced available studio labour from 18,000 to 2400.
