General Sir Andrew Russell and Lady Russell spent the week-end at Whakatane being guests at the Whakatane Hotel.
Mr J. Brown, of Te Puke, has been appointed judge of the light horse section at the Hawera Show on 7th and Bth November.
Sister D. GilleSpter who for the past six months has been on the staff of the 1 Whakatane Public Hospital, has left for Wellington to take up duties in that city*
Mrs B. N. Briggs, who has been transferred from the W.W.S.A: Transport to the R.N.Z.A.F. Women's Auxiliary at Levin, has been spending her extended leave at Ohope. She is to report at Levin on October 21.
Private S. Miller has been promoted to Sergeant-Cook at the Base Camp, and has been in contact with the Reverend Mr Day, former minister of Whakatane, who is now a padre at the Field Hospital.
