THE COUNTRY WOMAN
HOME FIELD DAYS PLANNED
WHAKATANE DISTRICT
Under the auspices of the Advisory Committee of Adult Education (Auckland University College) a series of Field Da3 r s have been planned in the Whakatane district and will commence in a week's time., The lecturer will be Mrs D. E. Johnson who is also Tutor-organiser of the campaign. The Field Days will be conducted in conjunction Avith the women's organisations throughout the area and are guaranteed to be thoroughly enjoyable for ali who attend apart from their vital educational value.
The district dates are as under : Matata, October 20tli (Monday); Te Teko, Tuesday (October 21); Edgecumbe, Thursday (October 23) ; Thornton, Friday (October 24);, Otakiri, Monday (October 27); Awakeri, Tuesday (October 28); Whakatane, Wednesday (October 29); Waimana, Thursday (October 30); Taneatua, Friday (October 31).
The co-ordinating committee working in Avith the movement comprises Mrs T. Graddock (Thornton), Mrs F. Li use 11 (T'c Teko), Mrs L. Gray (Edgecumbe), Mrs E. Haultain (Awakeri), Mrs U. Matthews (Whalcatane), Mrs T. Mitchell (Taneatua), Mrs P. Woolfield (Waimana). Any information regarding the lectures and the Field Days, all of which will be conducted in the district halls, may be obtained from any, of the foregoing or from the secretary, Mrs Caverhill (Matata) or the convener, Mrs E. Haultain (Awakeri).
