WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
Members present were ten and one visitor. The president in a few wellchosen words welcomed a new member to the Institute. Mrs Macpherson, delegate to the Council meeting, read an interesting report on the day spent at Waimana.
At the conclusion of the business it was decidcd that the Institute buy a spinning wheel, the spun wool being used for knitting Marine clothing. A competition "Concluding Proverbs," was entered into with zest, the winner being Mrs Logan. Miss Rentlall won the competition for the best arranged 21b jar of flowers. A dainty afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Rimmer and Hartley. Library service was opened to members and after selling contents of Sales Table and Talent competition a pleasant afternoon was brought to a conclusion.
