Is it a Late 1 Spring? j Where farmers congregate a common topic of conversation is whether the spring growth of pasture is later this year than last year or in other years. Generally speaking the Sentember weather of 1941 lias had some hard things said about it by local farmers, who have been made aware of cold winds, grass eaten down short by herds of cows, and no respite in the business of feeding out hay. In defence of the weather it may be suggested that on most farms cows have been coming to profit rather earlier than in previous years, and consequently there have been many months to feed with grass and hay. Calm sunny days during the next fortnight are needed to' restore the 1941 spring weather to favour with farmers.
