LOCAL ACTIVITIES

(Jndcr Captain J. W. Wilson the local territorials underwent their shooting training with .22 ammunition on Sunday and all qualified. They are to shoot with the .303 ammunition on Sunday next, October o.

The Adjutant of the Regiment, Captain Goddard, accompanied by the District Transport Officer visited Whakatane on Friday and Saturday and discussed important details with Captain Wilson. It was unfortunately impossible for him to remain to attend the parade on Sunday.

In order to augment the company's funds the "terriers" hope to organise a dance, and at Sunday's parade a committee is to be formed with a view to furthering the proposal to hold this event in the near future.
