DRIEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD

FALLS ON SEVEN DAYS

Mr H. Muscutt reports that the month just ended was the driest September on record, rain on seven days aggregating only 1.69 inches to bring the year's, total to 39.68 inches compared with 33.68 for the same period in 1940. Last September 2.74 inches: were recorded, while the previous driest September was in 1933 when only 1.95 inches were recorded. The month produced the most rain in 1923, 9.07 being shown on the measure . —
