DEBATE ALSO HELD

On Saturday, September 20, Messrs "J. Craoswick, D. White and R. Burnett of "the Waimana Young Farm■vers' Club represented the Eastern Bay of Plenty in a stock judging • competition. The judging was carried out on Mr Geo. Sutton's farm -at Paengaroa, and the competition was for a cup presented by Messrs Wright, Stephenson for the Eastern rjind Western Bay of Plenty dairy cow judging. The trophy was held by Waimana for 19401, this year being won by a Western Bay of Plenty team represented by Paengaroa. The judge was Mr K. Bennett.. In the evening the same team represented Waimana in the final of the Eastern Debating Contest which was held in the Paengaroa This contest was for a shield ; which was presented five years ago -and is debated for annually. Waimana has held this shield for three .years in succession. This year it went, by a narrow margin, to a T'e !Puke team.
