SUCCESSFUL DANCE

WAIMANA EVENT CHRISTMAS GIFTS. FOR TROOPS The dance held in the Waimana Hall under the auspices of ahe l Wai- ■ mana-Nulcuhou Women's Institute last Monday evening was very successful, the sum of £16 14s being; taken, the funds to go to buying! Christmas cakes for th> boys serving overseas whoi have left the district. Mr H. Ward!aw capably acted as M.G., Mr and Mrs King supplied thedance music and extras' were played M. Wardlaw and Mr Graham Wardlaw. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mrs W. Ball and part-* ner and Mrs H. Bell and Mr Eagle l . Boxes of chocolates donated by* Mrs C. Bell for competition were won by Mrs Ball 1, and D. Cain N A Christmas cake donated by | Eagle, was won by Mrs T. Wardlaw. After supper had been served, Mff H. Wardlaw, on behalf of the Institute, thanked Mrs Eagle and Mrs C„ Bell for their much appreciated donations, extended thanks to all present for their help. Mrs Wylde also thanked Mr H. Wardlaw for his generous donation to the funds by paying for the hall, it being much appreciated. Dancing continued until a late hour when the National Attthem closed the function.
