BRANCH OF W.W.S.A. GALL TO YOUNG MOTHEIRS

Glasses for the training in Plunkct Aid, a branch of the Women's War Service Auxiliary work, are to be commenced shortly, and a call is being made to young mothers' and others interested to take up this very important work. The Plunket Nurse is ta act as instructor for the training which wil'l fully equip members for an emergency, when young babies may hive to lie cared for while their own mothers are not available.

Mrs Armstrong, leader of the Auxiliary, states that the need is chiefly for young mothers, \vho in the event of the emergency ansing would find no great difficulty in caring for an infant at the same time as they were caring for their own. However, others interested; in this work will bb welcomed in the ranks and, all may obtain further information by communicating with her. First Aid Training A further number of members of the Auxiliary are to commence First Aid training on Thursday night, all members who have not yet qualified In this exceptionally important phase of the work being asked to be in attendance. During the evening Mr A- J. Canning will present the certificates already earned by First Aid trainees. Home Nursing The class studying Home Nursing has been a veTy keen one and it is (anticipated that good marks will be registered when the examinations are to be held at the end of the month. Transport Work The second syllabus of the Transport sections trainirg in mechanics Is tot start on Thursday night and members scheduled to take this course are urged to be present. MANAWAHE ACTIVITIES In spite of weather conditions an interesting and profitable lecture was held on September 13 at the Manawahe School. Soldiers' l parcels were made up and the meeting closed with physical drill.
