YOUNG FARMERS MEET

EDGECUMBE BRANCH Y.F.C. The monthly meeting of the Young Farmers' Club, at Edgecumbe, was held recently, when there was a fair attendance. In the absence of the chairman, Mr J. Robb'ins, Mr J. Sumner was elected acting chairman. After the correspondence was dealt with, it was decided to make a suitable presentation toi Mir G. R. Taylor (Department qf Agriculture) who has been transferred to the Rotorua district. As district secretary hei had helped the Club tremendously, but though his; departure was regretted members feel sure, that his successor, Mr Murray, would fill his place admirably. Mr Murray was present during thei evening. Pleasure was also expressed at seeing the president, Mr W. A. McCracken, present.. For the next meeting it is expected that every members will make an impromptu speech on a given subject. During supper members of the Edgecumbe W.W.S.A. were present. At the previous meeting a presentation was made to one of the club's former secretaries, Mr A. McCracken, who is shortly leaving with the F.A.A., of a cigarette case with a suitable token of appreciation engraved thereon.
