BUSINESSMEN'S MOTTO

WHAKATANE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE •V" "WORK, SERVICE, PROGRESS" The suggestion that the Whakatane 'Chamber of Commerce should have a suitable motto ha«s at last borne fruit. The only one forthcoming (apart from a number of semi-hum-orous slogans appearing in the BEACON correspondence column) was from Mr A. G. Lunn, who suggested it upon the occasion of his last visit. It reads: "Work, Service, Progress" .and was formally adopted by the ■Chamber at its meeting last week.
