SCOUT COMMISSIONER'S VISIT

The Whakatane Scout Comr milttee has received intimation that Mr Hector Christie, Dominion Chief Scout Commissioner will be visiting Whakatane on Thursday next for the purpose of) reviewing the local troop, and' also meeting the businessmen of the town at an informal luncheon. Commissioner Christie had expressed l a desire to meet the local businessmen in order that he might expound l upon the movement and endeavour to stimulate greater interest. The Chamber of Commerce by way of ■ responding to the invitation is circularising all its members and inviting them 'to the luncheon which will be served in the Whakatane Hotel between 12 noon and 1 p.m. It ils hoped that others who are interested' will also make a point of attending.
