STEEL PAPER
Sheets of a new kind of steel, as thin as paper but of such tremendous strength that they will stand a strain of 80 tons to the square inch, are now being used in *he construction of American aeroplanes. The invention was prompted by the huge demand for aluminium. ! 1 ] The new steel "paper" does, not rust, nor is it affected by heat, which will cause aluminium to melt. Its one drawback is that its cost is twice that of aluminium alloys.
