VIOLENT WHIRLWIND
DAMAGE ON THE PLAINS \ NARROW COURSE TAKEN" Ai violent whirlwind was responsible for much damage on the Rangitaiki Plains on Thursday night taking a narrow course with OtaKlri and Te Teko suffering considerable damage. Trees were uprooted and slicds blown down as the phenomenon covered its narrow course across the Plains. ; In other districts the night was n normally calm one and that larp? trees had been snapped, others uprooted, piggeries devastated and buijdings extensively damaged was a surprising discovery for residents nearby.
