VALEDICTORY
MR C. R. TAYLOR HONOURED SERVICES APPRECIATED On Wednesday night members of the executive committee of the Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association gathered to bid farewell to one of their members, Mr G. R. Taylcr, who is leaving Whakatane to reside at Rotorua. Glowing tributes were paid to the valuable work Mir Taylor had accomplished for the Association during his three and a half years in this town and as a token of appreciation a handsome barometer was presented fo him. The president of the Association, Mr A. J. Canning, p resided 1 , and in making the presentation expressed the deep, regret felt by all members at the departure of Mr Taylor, who he said had shown great interest in the activities of the show* and had been responsible for largely interesting members of the farming community in the competitive side of the events He extended best wishes for future and Mrs Taylor adding that' menu bers would welcome him at any time he might return to Whakatane. Messrs W. Sullivan, L. R. Spring, B. S. Barry, H. G. Warren and F. B. Cutler also added their quota of praise of the fine work and keen Interest in the show which had been exhibited by Mr Taylor. Stating that it had given l him pleasure to be associated with the show Mr Taylor thanked the members for the honour and the gift the.v had bestowed upon him. Y.F.C. TRIBUTE i On Monday last at the meeting of the Young Farmers" District Committee, Mr C. R. Taylor was farewelled by the Waimana Young Farmers' Club. Mr Horace White, handed Mr Taylor a present thanking him for his untiring interest in the Y.F.C. movement. An address, signed by members present, thanked Mr Taylor for his help and assistance which he was ever ready to give to the club wished him the best of luck in his appointment as Instructor of Agriculture, in Rotorua.. In replying Mir Taylor thanked the club members and said that he hoped the Young Farmers' GlubS would prepare some plan to help the "boys" back to the farms after the ,war. He also urged members present to do their utmost for their clubs as the movement was >nf in which young men could train themselves to occupy places IS' good citizens.
