Dresses in soft rainboAV shades matching the decorations at the Church and the subsequent reception made a charmingly colourful setting for the Avedding solemnised on Saturday at the Anglican Church, Whakatane, by the Rev. G. G. Gaul ton of Joyce Ruth, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs F. G. Parkinson, formerly of Opotiki, and Grevet Thomas, eldest son of Mr and Mlrs J. T. Morgan. Gisborne. Particularly charming was the bride's simply cut gown of magnolia crepe cloque, finished Avith a long train, her tulle veil falling softly from a coronet of camellias, the pretty ensemble being completed by her bouquet of friesias, rosebuds and tiny spring flowers.

Three of her sisters Misses Annis. fsobelle and Sylvia Parkinson, and Miss Irene StcAvart, attended- her as bridesmaids dressed alike in rainbow taffeta frocks with smocked bodices and the skirts falling in slim fitting tines. Freesias, daffodils and Iceland poppies formed their bouquets and their tiny haloes were of spring blooms. The flo Aver girl Avas little Colleen Hollis, niece of the bride, in Q daintv frock of lemon taffeta.

Mr F. Hollis acted as best man, Messrs A. Chapman, J, C. Hikitene find J. Buttenvorth as groomsmen and Messrs D. Teohaere and L. Daw-

son were ushers,

Wearing a marina green wool frock with black hat and accessories Mrs F. Hollis, sister of the bride, later received her guests at the wedding breakfast held at the Empire Private Hotel. With her were Mrs F. C. Parkinson in a green and cyclamen costume and Mrs Morgan in navy blue. The customary toasts were interspersed by songs by Mr F. Watson and the bridesmaids, and solos by Miss Sylvia Parkinson.

The many guests from all over the Bay of Plenty included Mr and Mrs J. Parkinson (Rotorua), Mr and Mrs F. Matchitt, Mr and Mrs G. Grey. Mr and Mrs G. Murray, Mr and Mrs McQuaid (Rotorua), Mir and Mrs P. Stewart, Mr and Mrs J. Bluett (Taneatua), Mr and Mrs K. Burnett, Mr and Mrs J. Shaw (Edgccumbc), Mr and Mirs D. Collier (Opotiki), Mesdames C.
